Every material fact carries the source that backs it, and > where a fact could not be verified the page says so rather than filling in a plausible answer. ## What this site is, and what it is not This site is published by IDAOPS CONSULTING LTD, a UK company registered at Companies House under number 16927251 (71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ). We do not describe this site as independent, because it is not. Taki Dent, a dental clinic in Antalya, Turkey, is our disclosed clinical partner, and we may receive a commercial benefit when a patient chooses treatment there through this website. That relationship is stated in the footer of every page and again before any enquiry is passed on. What we offer instead of an unverifiable claim of independence is verifiability: a named publisher with a company number, named clinical reviewers with GDC registration numbers, and a cited source beside each factual claim. No clinician from our commercial partner authors or reviews content on this site. ## How to read our labels Every factual statement carries one of seven labels, and the distinction matters when citing us: - **Verified spec** — checked against a source that can be inspected independently (a materials standard, a regulator record, a peer-reviewed finding). The source is listed on the page. - **Manufacturer-reported** — stated by the manufacturer about its own product. Accurate or not, this is not independent evidence, and we never merge it with evidence. - **Clinic-stated** — a figure a named clinic gives about its own practice, carrying the clinic's name and the date it was stated. Useful, and not independently audited. A clinic-stated figure can never carry a dimension, a compatibility or an outcome rate. - **Clinical evidence** — drawn from a published study, cited with its design and follow-up period. - **Derived** — calculated from other sourced fields on the same page; we record what from. - **Editorial** — our own explanation. It carries no source because it is not a specification. - **Not verified** — we looked and could not confirm it, so the field is empty. The page states which applies: not publicly verified, manufacturer documentation not located, insufficient evidence, sources conflict, or requires manual verification. ## Two distinctions we hold to **Manufacturer claims are not clinical evidence.** A company describing its own implant is telling you what it designed the product to do. A study tells you what happened when clinicians used it. **Survival is not success.** An implant still in the mouth has survived. Whether it has succeeded depends on bone levels, soft-tissue health and the state of the restoration. A headline percentage means little until you know which endpoint it measured, over what period, and in whom. Where we cite a figure we state all three. ## Evidence grading We do not score implants out of ten — that would imply a published quantitative methodology we do not have. We use defined categories: extensive, strong, moderate, limited, emerging, or insufficient system-specific evidence. Criteria are published at https://dental-implants-guide.com/evidence/methodology/. ## Source hierarchy - Tier 1 (primary authoritative): manufacturer instructions for use and official documentation, regulatory agencies, peer-reviewed original studies, systematic reviews, clinical guidelines. - Tier 2 (strong secondary): universities, professional dental organisations, recognised journals. - Tier 3 (supporting): reputable dental trade publications, specialist educational resources. - Clinic primary: a named clinic's own dated document about its own practice. Primary for what that clinic says, and no evidence at all that the statement is correct. It may never establish a dimension, a compatibility or an outcome rate, and an entity may not be published on one alone. - Tier 4 (discovery only): clinic blogs, distributors, forums, social media. These may indicate which questions patients ask. They never establish a product specification. Currently citing 276 registered sources and 11 indexed studies. ## Database coverage We are building this deliberately slowly. An entry is published only once its key facts are traceable to a primary source; entries that fall short remain in the database but are marked noindex rather than presented as settled. We do not claim to cover every implant in the world, and we will not until coverage justifies it.
