Overview
ZERAMEX is a Swiss brand of metal-free ceramic implants, now owned by the ceramics group CeramTec. Its defining feature is being two-piece and screw-retained: most ceramic implants historically were one-piece, because putting a screw joint into a brittle zirconia body is hard to engineer, and ZERAMEX addresses that with a carbon-fibre-reinforced screw. The patient-relevant distinction is material — this is a zirconia implant chosen mainly to avoid titanium — not simply a white version of a conventional implant.
