The biggest differences

AnyRidge is built around its KnifeThread — a knife-shaped progressive thread of variable depth over a constant core diameter, so the surgeon selects fixture width by bone quality rather than by drilling a wider hole. NobelActive expands into an under-prepared site using a double-lead thread and reverse cutting blades that let the implant be redirected during placement. Both are legitimate answers to the same problem of holding an implant still in poor bone.

Design

AnyRidge lists ten fixture diameters from 3.5 to 8.0 mm on five core diameters, reaching considerably wider than NobelActive's 3.0 to 5.5 mm. NobelActive offers a 3.0 mm implant that AnyRidge does not. Lengths run 7 to 15 mm on AnyRidge and 7 to 18 mm on NobelActive. AnyRidge carries the XPEED calcium-ion surface; NobelActive carries TiUltra.

Prosthetic ecosystem

AnyRidge uses a 5 degree Morse taper with a 2.3 mm internal hex, identical on every fixture diameter, so one component set serves the range. NobelActive uses Nobel Biocare's internal conical connection, shared with NobelParallel and NobelReplace CC. Both keep component ordering simple within their own systems; neither takes the other's parts, and a UK dentist servicing either later needs the correct system identified.

Clinical evidence

NobelActive has the longer market history and therefore the larger published literature, but that is a consequence of age and cannot be read as a clinical verdict over a newer design.
